Day 33: Dupayre to Glacier National Park Day 35: Glacier National Park to Claresholm, Alberta

Day 34: Day off in Glacier National Park

I drove with a small group along the “Going to the Sun” highway, which I had biked up the night before. But in the car we were able to go past the pass and into the next glacial valley. We went from scenic overlook to scenic overlook and it was gorgeous.

We ate bison for dinner, which is pretty tasty stuff. After dinner, some of us went over to the “Many Glaciers” area to walk around. Mercedes' boyfriend, Hal, was visiting for a couple of days. He had wanted to see a bear and sure enough we came across a small brown one. We scared it pretty bad and it took off into the trees.

At the destination, we leisurly strolled around the lakes and talked randomly about nothing important, which I find to be quite relaxing.

On the way back, we picked up some more ice cream (love good ice cream) and headed back into camp for more casual banter and a fairly early night.
