Day 66: Rest Day in Waikanae
Today we did… nothing! And it was mostly great. To be honest, it would be awesome to take a class or be able to create something. All of this consumption of experiences pushes the pendulum of desire for productivity higher and higher. One thing that's bothered me is how so many people do so many nice things for us, but we can't really do anything in return. It feels like a one-way street sometimes and it makes me uncomfortable. I’m feeling restless while also feeling grateful for being able to rest today.
For both of us, the surreal nature of being in a motel room with our own bathroom continued. We haven't had our own, real bathroom for months now. Also, we watched a couple of shows, ate things, and ventured out to buy dinner while our feet protested their every use.
Tomorrow we begin the last leg of our journey to the conclusion of the north island. We have just a few more days! Crazy!
